My Baby Can Feed Herself

... without a spoon that is:) So I let Olivia feed herself again, and she really has been getting pretty good with a spoon...but occasionally she get frustrated with the food falling off and she decided to use her own utensil... her face:)

Oh I just love her so much:)

Also so I have been making a lot more of the vintage headbands (not just for myself even though I really would keep everyone I make... that's a good thing though:)) and making up some new ones and I made a really cute one today. Its brown and then some orange colors- kind of pinkish orange and then a lace stretch headband on it:

Only Gone For A Second

So I made Olivia some of those broccoli and cheese nuggets and they turned out really good and she loves them, so if anyone wants the recipe its really easy. It's basically just eggs, cheese, broccoli, and breadcrumbs.

Well, while I was making them I let Olivia play with a big pot with a 1 cup of water in it so she could stir it around, since she saw me mixing things she wanted something in hers too:) and I went to put away something for a second and when I came back I found this...

Just so innocent:)

Cutie With An Attitude

Olivia is seriously the cutest baby! (I'm her momma, so I can say that as many times as I want:))But really just lately she is becoming her own self, and it's really showing! The days seem to go by so fast! Today we had a shopping day with Grandma Porter. There is this boutique called Karma, and its seriously such a cute boutique. I got a cute pair of shoes and such a cute shirt. Whenever we take Olivia shopping she wants to get into everything, and if I let her I'm sure the owner of the store wouldn't have cared since she is so cute...:)

So Olivia is a really good eater and when we first started with the baby food she couldn't get enough, but lately she hates baby food, and is becoming quite picky. I have been trying to find healthy food that she will eat. She doesn't really like banana's or apples and I'm finding it hard to find vegetables she will eat. I mash them up but if it at all looks like baby food she fights it. Of course, she will eat bread and other food but its the healthy stuff we're struggling with. I did find some healthy finger food recipes so I will try those. She is a very well fed baby though:) I'm going to make these broccoli and cheese nuggets and I hope she will like those. I guess its just going to be a lot of experimenting:)

Happy 24th

Happy Pioneer Day! It was so fun today hanging with family. My sister, Stephanie, took our family pictures, so here are just a couple of them (she is an awesome photographer) :

and then we played a softball game. I am so out of shape.... It was so fun though! After our first game we decided that we would each get ten pitches so we would see how many each of us could hit out of that 10- even if they weren't very good pitches. I was pitching to my brother, Kevin, and he hit line drive right at me and I got hit right in the leg, just above the knee. Luckily, it wasn't my knee but it still hurt enough to drop me. I have a huge welt on my leg but it only hurts if I bend my leg, from the tension or of course touch it. After that we called it quits and went home and had a big BBQ lunch. It was an awesome day.

My poor leg- it's a huge bump! It's just barely starting to bruise.

It was so much fun playing with all of my family.

Kennecott Copper Mine

This morning we went with Mike's parents to Kennecott Copper Mine. I had never been there, but it was pretty neat to see how big it was and to learn a little about the history of it. For anyone who has not been there they mine for copper, hence the name:) The little video we watched of it was pretty amazing about the technology they use to mine it though.

It really was amazing to think and see how big this hole in the ground is and to be able to see it from space is pretty amazing. Sometimes I am just in awe with what we can do with technology today.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

So on Tuesday my mom, and sisters Kasi, Stephanie, and Olivia and me went and had a girls day/night in SLC. It was a blast. We stayed at the Little America Hotel- such a way nice hotel, and we took the tracks to The Gateway where we shopped all afternoon, went to a wedding reception and played games in our hotel. Of course we also laid out and went swimming. On the second floor of the hotel is another indoor/outdoor pool with a hot tub, exercise room, and sauna and the pool is heated- so nice:) ( well it would be way nice for winter, it was nice today since it was so windy) I bought the cutest aqua colored shoes.
I love spending time with my sisters and mom, and of course Olivia:)

CTR Man To The Rescue

I made a CTR cape for the kids in my primary class for the lesson tomorrow. I think they turned out pretty sweet! ... just wanted to share:)

Day At The Zoo

We went to Hogle Zoo today. Olivia was so cute to watch her looking at all the animals. She loved them! The wild turkeys scared her a little though. We went when they first opened so the weather was actually pretty cool. We took pictures at pretty much all the animal statues and we took pictures of every animal there. Olivia loved riding the carousel! It was a really fun day spending time just the three of us.

Don't Blink

So as I was looking over this months visiting teaching message and how its on strengthening families, and I found this quote I had:

"In a world of turmoil and uncertainty, it is more important than ever to make our families the center of our lives and the top of our priorities. Families lie at the center of our Heavenly Father's plan."- L. Tom Perry

I guess it just got me thinking with how fast Olivia is growing up and it's so important to be that good example and person for her to look up to.I was watching her entertaining herself and just could not believe she is 1! Seriously! Where has the time gone? She is growing up and no matter what I do she is going to keep growing up!(which of course is a good thing- just a little sad) I'm so thankful that I am able to stay at home with her. I have the best husband in the world for letting me:)

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink

You just might miss your babies growing
like mine did

Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"

Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

Another July Birthday

Happy Happy Birthday!

Mike's birthday is today:) He is turning... well, you will just have to guess:) For his birthday we are going out to dinner at Pizza Factory, and then probably watching a movie after. Nothing too big planned- Mike doesn't like to make a big deal with his birthday- I'm opposite:) We aren't doing anything really big though but I did get him presents- even though he makes such a big deal about not getting any:)

So Mike is so bummed with the Utah Jazz lately since Korver isn't on the team anymore- his favorite player- So I made him a birthday Utah Jazz Jersey cake- No, 33 is not how old he is turning, it's just his playing number, and since he doesn't know who will be his favorite now I put it on the cake.

One of the presents my parents got him a Utah Jazz hat:

Happy Birthday ( babe:) ) Love ya!

2010 Smith Family Pictures

I have been wanting to get family pictures done for a while now so on Sunday my sister, Stephanie, took our family pictures. I think she is amazing at them. These are only some of them but I loved all the ones she took.
